Paris at ComicCon?

This is my WTF moment of the day:

paris-hilton

What the hell is Paris Hilton doing at ComicCon?

Having a good Tuesday – got to work early, set off the freakin’ alarm, but now I’m listening to Glitter and Doom:  Tom Waits In Concert.  Why didn’t he come to Boston?

$482 Billion

The next president will inherit a record budget deficit of $482 billion, according to a new Bush administration estimate released Monday.

Isn’t that just great news? $482 billion. That’s more money than I can even begin to conceive.

I think it might be time for some change, don’t you?

The Open Web Foundation

This morning at OSCON, David Recordon announced the creation of the Open Web Foundation. The Open Web Foundation is an attempt to create a home for community-driven specifications. Following the open source model similar to the Apache Software Foundation, the foundation is aimed at building a lightweight framework to help communities deal with the legal requirements necessary to create successful and widely adopted specification.

You can get the presentation here.

The idea of the Internet Operating System looks great to me. Open Standards will make that a reality. There is much to think about, and it is far too early.

I don’t know what that means, but check out these amazing slides from a 1975 IBM Presentation.  They are awesome.  I might have to put them in my powerpoints.
