Pearl Jam’s Evenflow

Evenflow is going to be one of the songs available on Guitar Hero III. I can’t wait to play on the Wii.

Don’t Park Here, Please

From: Digg.

Also found this fun site whilst surfing - strangemaps. My favorite is the United States of Florida.

On a less humorous and more “things that make you go hmmmm” note. This map from that same site shows some maps of post WWII Germany. My father’s side of the family comes from East Prussia - wonder what would have happened if they hadn’t been kicked out of their home and relocated to “West” Germany.

Another week begins….

Can you believe its going to be freakin’ September? I can’t. Neither can my car. Inspection is due, so I’m not working on Friday. Take that! Here are two fun comics from http://xkcd.com/

First one shows that I’m not the only Star Wars Geek.

And, if I had the balls, this is what I would do instead of going to work tomorrow:

Craptacular!

Well, this was a crappy day.  Tomorrow looks to be partially crappy with a chance of occasional shittyness.  Off to NY for the weekend,  which will be nice, and not as crappy.

Tonight, however, its dinner at Ten Tables in JP.  If you haven’t gone, call, make a reservation when you can get one, and go.  It’s worth it!  One of my favorite restaurants in all of Boston.

What I Believe

Driving back from downtown Boston earlier today, I listened to this great essay by George Bowering entitled, The Holy Life of the Intellect.  I’m linking to it from here so I can read it again.  Dissuaded by organized religion, I like the concept that art, music, literature and the ‘intellect’ are the most holy and spiritual aspects of human life.  Steph and I made a contribution to our local NPR station as part of our wedding ‘gift’ to those folks who came out to see us get hitched, and I’ll continue giving to them as long as I’m able.  (There’s great Jazz on npr, where else can you find great jazz?)

(Aside, I’m writing this using Windows Live Writer, lets see how it does)

TGIF

Wife is off camping with the girls, and I have the house to myself! Plans? We don’t need no stinkin’ plans!

I updated some new ‘tracks’ on RileySmile, check them out if you’re into house/dance/techno/whatever the hell it is.

I found a hilarious blog called My Right Wing Dad, which makes me smile. I have an uncle… wait, he’s my wife’s uncle, does that make him anything to me? Whatever, he sends around a lot of this fun Right Wing stuff, which generally makes me laugh. The blog is a brilliant idea. I found it on MonkeyFilter.

Finally Friday

It’s finally Friday! This week has been relatively intense, but that should soon be sated by a Friday night Simpson’s movie (I had already been dubbed Spider Pig by my nieces and nephews while in NH), a Saturday early party, which may be followed up by a trip to the Beachcomber and Backstreet Lover. I just realized that my weekend is full. When am I going to do that languishing about the house I had planned? Oh well, there’s always next weekend.
