grub street, inc. | programs. | seminars.

Ugh, a week off from work, and now I’m swamped! I’d love to do the weekend seminar at Grub Street: grub street, inc. | programs. | seminars. But I honestly don’t know if I’ll find the time. That sucks!

Vacation was great. Lake Winnipisaukee (sic? who cares!) was fun, as was the Police Concert at Fenway on Saturday night. Now its back to reality, and who the hell likes reality?

Sharing iTunes?

Not the first to mention this, and probably won’t be the last. The website Simplify Media has a download which will theoretically allow me to share my iTunes with people over the internets. Hopefully, it will let me share my music with myself, so when I’m at work, I can listen to some 80s hair metal and perhaps a little Pearl Jam.

Anyone try this out yet?

Mind maps as “to do” lists?

In the never ending hunt for organization (and the fear that I’m going to mess up a big work project because I’m absent minded at best), I’ve spent some time looking around for a better “to do” list than a simple todo.txt file on my desktop. The best google gave me for using FreeMind was this link: A Journey into Softlandia: Using a mind map as a TODO list which doesn’t really say much.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I try to avoid this at all costs outside…

But someone, who is much more clever than me, decided to grow weeds inside…

Wii Fit

This will make my wife soooo happy. The Wii, the greatest thing to come to my living room since TiVo, is coming out with a game that will help you excercise, like a 80s style aerobics VCR tape.

I’m so freakin’ excited.

Linkadoodledoo.

Oh crap its only Tuesday…

A 90-year-old man said to his doctor, “I’ve never felt better. I have an 18-year old bride who is pregnant with my child. What do you think about that?”

The doctor considered his question for a minute and then said, “I have an elderly friend who is a hunter and never misses a season. One day when he was going out in a bit of a hurry, he accidentally picked up his umbrella instead of his gun. When he got to the Creek, he saw a rabbit sitting beside the stream. He raised his umbrella and went, ‘bang, bang’ and the rabbit fell dead. What do you think of that?”

The 90-year-old said, “I’d say somebody else killed that rabbit.”

The doctor replied, “My point exactly.”

How to Actually Execute Your To-Do List: or, Why Writing It Down Doesn’t Actually Get It Done | zen habits

Ever read one of those “How to be more productive” articles on the internets and think to yourself, “Wow, people really read this shit and think its going to help them”… and then you realize that you were actually looking for some advice, because all you do is procrastinate?

Yeah, that’s me. Run-on sentences rule!

Here’s my new advice to myself:

I don’t need a freakin’ web-based, ajax, off-line synchronized PIM. I need a text file. That’s my to-do list. Now, I just need to do all the things that are on it. What’s your big secret?
