Pearl Jam Tonight

Tonight’s the second Boston Pearl Jam show, and I can’t tell you how excited I am.  I downloaded the second Chicago show from PJ’s bootleg site, and I’m still so impressed by their live performances.  Only a couple of hours from now, I wonder where my Ten Club seats will be!

The Lost finale was fantastic, although the Season One finale was still my favorite episode.  Lots of questions to be asked however, and that’s a good thing!

Where’s the ‘monster’?  Why was there no smoke monster in this episode?  What ever happened to it?  In the first few episodes (esp. the pilot) the monster was such a prevalent character, and now its gone?  Did Echo stare it down into submission?

WTF is up with the bird?  Some people (who have more time to pause TiVo than I do) say that the bird looks like a pterodactyl at one point.  Are you freakin’ kidding me?  Why did it say Hurley’s name?

There are also theories around the nature of the electromagnetic pulse.  Did it cause the sky to go violet?  Why doesn’t Charlie go back to the hatch to see if his friends are OK?  (Not that I believe they would kill Locke or Echo at this point in the story-line)

Oh so many questions, and so much work to do…

West 116th Street: Why You Too Should Cancel Cable

West 116th Street: Why You Too Should Cancel Cable

I was thinking about TV, although I generally only watch what’s on TiVo. Now, if I could get away from my internet addiction, life would be grand.

How cool is Pearl Jam? They put their video for Life Wasted on Google Video.

Any other bands that cool? I don’t think so.

Tim Matheson » 6 Ways to make airport security painless

Meh. These tips aren’t really that helpful.

I find the following more important:

Wear shoes that are easy to take off/on. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve had to wait behind someone who is wearing lace-up boots at the security line. They will ask you to take off your shoes, just do it. Don’t put your shoes in one of the grey bins, just put them as is on the band.

Put your wallet, cell phone, spare change, car keys, watch, etc. in your carry on bag before you get to the security line. It just makes life easier for everyone.

While you’re waiting in the security line, pull out your laptop. You’re required to have it scanned separately, why wait till the last minute?

Ditto for your jacket/sportcoat. You will need to take it off anyway, just get it over with.

Keep your boarding pass in your hand. You will need to show it as you pass through the metal detector.

Before you get to security, take out your ID. Don’t wait until you’re asked, you are going to have to show it with your boarding pass.

Don’t try and keep lighters in your jacket/bag. They will find them, and you’ll lose it anyway. If you’re a smoker, take your lighters out of your pants/jacket/bag and bring along some matches.

Use the check-in kiosks. If you have an e-ticket, walk up to a check-in kiosk, slide your credit card (it doesn’t have to be the one you used to buy the ticket, it’s only used to authenticate your name) and viola, you are done.

The Type-Z Guide to Success With Ease

Oh boy, am I a Type-Z? This is exactly what I need - another self-help book that I’ll feel better about ordering and not reading.

Looks like its even an e-book. Those things never did it for me. There’s nothing like a real paper book in your hands.
