Some people have far too much time on their hands….
I love hotels. I LOVE THEM! Not for staying, unless its a vacation, but if you’re ever in a strange town and need to find wifi? Hotel. In a strange town and need a dinner recommendation? Hotel concierge. In a strange town and need to go? Hotel. Need a taxi? Hotel.
Look at the alternatives:
Need wi-fi? You can try a Starbucks, but good luck finding a place to sit. In most hotels, you just tell someone at the front desk that you’re meeting a guest, and just want to check your e-mail real fast, and viola, you get a free day pass.
Need restaurant recomendations? Sure, you can go to any local watering hole, but hotels will not only give you maps and directions, but most will also generally call the restaurant for you and make reservations!
Bathroom: Gotta go? “For patrons only” signs at every restaurant and bar? No worries, find the nearest hotel, and they will gladly let you do your business!
Taxis scarce? Never at hotels. Hell, the concierge will call one for you! So, go check your e-mail while you wait, and stop by the bathroom (to wash your hands!)
